Meet The Teachers!
Ms Christine : Hello, let me tell you a little about myself. I am a wife, and mother of two beautiful children. I started my career as a cake decorator before starting a family. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my children during the day and work part time evenings. It was extremely rewarding to be able to watch them learn and grow.
As soon as my children were in school, I returned to work as a specialty/ wedding cake decorator, for Jack's Bakery, in Brooklyn Park. Unfortunatly they had to close their doors in 2013. After decorating cakes for 23 years, I was ready for a change. It was at this time that my sister, Kim, was planning to open a preschool based daycare and asked if I would be interested in being her partner. This was the start of Half Pint Learning Center and Child Care. I believe Kim and I have an equally strong love for children and their well being. I'm looking forward sharing with the children my love for cooking/baking and and the joy of decorating! We are very excited about this new chapter in our lives! |
Ms Kim : Hello, my name is Kim, I am a wife of 25 years and mother of two wonderful children, Dylan and Kaitlyn. When Kaitlyn was two years old, I accepted a job as a preschool aide and I was able to take her to work with me. That was my first job in child care and the start of my new career. Once both my children were in school, I had an opportunity to work at a private catholic school as an assistant teacher, working both in the preschool and child care programs. After a year, I decided to become a preschool teacher and took a course, from Ashworth University, where I received a certificate in Child Care Career Skills.
I have worked in child care for over 7 years and have now decided it would be a good opportunity to open my own daycare. When I'm working with children, no two days are the same. Every day is a new adventure, new books to read, songs to sing and things to explore. I really enjoy working with children! Watching them and their love for learning grow! |
